If you didn't say dumb shit I wouldn't have to scoff at it, now would I?

Things that were lame about Star Trek

jacobmartinez:

Talk about how great it was all you want but the movie just disappointed me, you’ll see, due to trivial inaccuracies.

  • Sulu is trained in fencing yet he fights with a katana.
  • Only Spock had the pointed sideburns instead of every male like in the show.
  • Everyone’s position was earned through (mis)fortune instead of years of hard work and dedication.
  • The whole not being able to get a lock on someone via transporter nonsense.
  • It didn’t showcase any of Spock/Vulcan abilities like strength, mental telepathy/mind control, or even really his intelligence. We are shown that he is smart, but also that every Vulcan is smart, we don’t get any of Spock’s true brilliance.
  • Spock gave the chances of success of his and Kirk’s plan in the form of a percent, and didn’t even make it to 3 decimal places.
  • Even with the whole different timeline thing, at this point in the timeline no one has ever seen a Romulan because the war between them and the federation occurred at a time when visual communication between ships was impossible.
  • Why were there 800 people on the USS Kelvin?

I’m sure there are more but I’ll sleep on it.
